    Emergency Services at 600 Highland Ave.

    Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week

     

    As a designated Level I Trauma Center at 600 Highland Ave. for both Pediatric Emergency Medicine and adult Emergency Department care, providers are available 24/7 to address critical care needs. This includes medical support while being transported on UW Med Flight or by CHETA, the American Family Children's Hospital's critical care transport.

    In August 2015, a new Emergency Department opened at UW Health at The American Center on Madison's east side, located at 4602 Eastpark Blvd.

     

    UW Health's Emergency and Critical Care Services are a resource to the region, available to consult with regional emergency departments and EMS providers who deliver the first line of care in critical situations.

     

    Whether a patient is brought to the emergency department for evaluation or directly to an inpatient unit for specialized treatment, our teams of professionals provide considerate, compassionate care and state-of-the-art life-saving expertise and technologies to ensure the best possible outcomes.

    This dedicated phone line gives referring providers immediate access to:

    • UW Health specialists in neonatology, maternal-fetal medicine and pediatric cardiology
    • Level III NICU: UnityPoint Health – Meriter
    • Level IV NICU: UW Health's American Family Children's Hospital
